Your location may be hurting you. If I come across a candidate out of state and I’m under constraints concerning hiring timing, I usually pass on that candidate in favor of someone local, if the candidate pool is big enough. I’d definitely either include a relocation timeline in your candidate message or cover letter to out of area job postings.

I’ve had jobs outright tell me they are interested but I’m more of a flight risk for them.

That feedback might have to do with the fact that you’re a recent grad. Some organizations are hesitant to invest in an out of area candidate who also has an untested professional track record. “Flight risk” for me usually translates to the recruiter having questions about your stamina and drive.

Have you worked with your school at all? Do they not have any pipeline?

I went to a small school which career services sucks. I ask them to help me and they pointed me to retails jobs 😂

Probably not a popular company on here, but Bank of America has a DFW office in Plano that was hiring like crazy when I worked with them awhile back. Could get in the door there and try to transition to their CLT office, which is unlikely, but it would be easier to apply to other banks in the Charlotte area with previous Financial Services experience. Once one helps you move to CLT, you can look for a position wherever in NC you were hoping to go. It’s a longer play, but it could be a viable option. The banks pay decently so you’d have some breathing room during your job search.

I will try that not having any previous Financial Services experience will be tough

Are there specific cities or companies in NC you were looking at?
