I just joined the company 6 months ago in a manager role. Due to few personal and career related issues before joining, I feel I got into depression and I lost my social skills. That being said, it is impacting my ability to perform to my fullest potential in my current role. Though I somehow struggle and manage to catch up with my work, my manager started expressing concerns about my performance which contributes back to stress. I am feeling low and thinking about next steps. Though Apple is great company to work for and I wouldn't want to miss this opportunity, should I take a career break or work on a lighter role with different company?
Highly recommend seeing a therapist ASAP. You can work it out in consultation with the therapist. DM me if you need help
Go to a doctor and get a pill. You’re ill
Start running for 20-40 min 3-4 times a week. stay positive and understand what your boss is expecting. Show him/her that you are trending in the right direction ASAP. Taking medicine has no impact on the root cause of the issue, you will be addicted to anti-depressents. Massage therapies should help reduce your anxiety temporarily, and you should try to address the situation aptly. Udersstand that all of us go through this at work and life multiple times.
It’s always a vicious cycle unless you address the root cause/s as much as possible. I’d suggest therapy irrespective whether you want to change companies
