I’m about midway through the interview process at AWS - non technical comms/marketing position. Half the team is based in the States and half are based in Europe. I’m curious to see how working hours factor in with team members in different time zones (say, by more than 4+ hours). Would love some experiences and insight into meeting times and workflow in this situation. Thanks!

Amazon. Non tech. Global role. I work essentially non stop. Not because someone is cracking the whip, but because that's what it takes . On the other hand, mgmt is hands off so that I can flex my hours and get other stuff done during mid day if I have to. Id just abandon the idea of a "work day" if I were you

Curious what kind of global role are you in?

Not AWS specific, but I work for a company with a foreign HQ and work across global teams and it inevitably leads to someone having to do meetings before 8 am or after 5 pm their time frequently.

Maybe if you are east coast and the rest of the team is in London it won’t be so bad, but West Coast to Europe is pretty brutal.

It’s Europe/East Coast so that gives me some hope it might be a bit more manageable.

With Europe, you’re probably looking at Early mornings rather than late evenings. I’d take that any day over working with China - Eastern Time to China work is just horrible.
