I want to prepare for senior SDE roles at FAANG. I have 8 years of experience and some design experience but its nothing like I have worked on very hard core system designs in real life , say working on a database (which I consider an epitome in engineering) . Now my problem is when I am youtube watching a design talk (say how they scaled slack etc etc), on the side bar u get recommendations for so many interesting talks that u feel like peeking all of them only to stress yourself resulting in less to no learning.

How to stay away from this ? Is there a silver bullet in system design ? should I just keep myself upto DDIA and Groking the system design ?

Designing Data intensive Applications mostly and educative.io. Also found some videos by Tim Berglund that are good summaries.

Grokking is good start... start interviewing with small companies who ask system design or mock interviews

I think yt is good once you have some knowledge and system design also have patterns like leetcode

Time boxing works for me. So pre-allocate say, 2 hours to study one topic, after that have the discipline to move on the next. You can add some videos to watch later - if that helps with the FOMO
