And I’ve found only certain personalities thrive here, and it’s hard to change your personality. If you’re that teammate who helps others, willing to take risks and take on more complex work, instead of the work that looks good for promotion, and if you value your code quality more than deadlines - it’s tough to thrive here. I understand some tech debt is necessary but major bugs are often left in a backlog to rot and become a customer impacting nightmare for on calls.
Amazon does not care about its employees. From devs to warehouse staff. Do you think they would put so much effort in busting unions if they gave a fuck? Clearly the company can afford to prosper even with unionized employees. However, in an almost sadistic way, amazon will risk it’s rep to destroy them
