For my first job out of college, I have an offer for Google Associate Account Strategist Google Ad Sales(GCS Ann Arbor). Is this a good position? Can I transition to APMM, APM, Strategy, or Finance Analyst? Would it be better to go into finance (Also have offer for BB IB) for two years and then transition to Google?

Thanks!

IB will make you the most money with 0 WLB. Think skipping all 3 meals a day with your S/O and family.

Tech sales will allow you to make a lot of money, with great WLB and if you want to move into IB later you can do an MBA. So I suggest that

Is it common to transition between sales and IB?

No. If you start in IB you’ll probably transition to private equity. If you start in sales you could get an MBA then go into IB. It’s not a product of sales -> IB it’s a product of top MBA -> IB.

Also if you wanna do sales just to transition you should just do IB?

I recommend tech sales tho, as someone who also had both options.

I'd take the offer based on the role/function you plan to be in for the next few years.

Either one will likely set you on a path with good TC, but that depends a lot on if you're good at the job and you make the effort every 3-4 years to move companies to advance into more senior roles for that career path - and that's likely to only happen if you like what you're doing instead of grinding for $$$ and burning out
