Got two offers, one is a contract that will most likely turn into hire for Microsoft, other is at a no name start up. Both around 100k. Which one should I take? I don’t have previous work experience, so this would be a stepping stone. Which makes me look better?
Don’t believe contract will turn into FT, it’s a lie recruiter use all the time.
I doubt you will work on interesting things as a contractor. Most likely never touch a production system. Startup on the other hand you'll learn as much as you want, there are never enough people so the world is your oyster.
Careful thinking v- can easily transition into FTE. That is often not the case unless you really wow everyone around you. You really don’t see too many v- being able to make the switch.
What the hell is big N?
Big name, since the question isn’t about which big name but what looks better, a contract at a big company or full time at a start up
