have an interview for a credit analyst/underwriter position with a regional bank...any advice?
Definitely read the expectations and the culture of the company. Regional banks that are growing focus more on being self directed, willing to work, and work as a team. Most regional banks are willing to train if you don’t possess all the necessary skills. Good luck!
Good idea to know the five c’s of credit: character, capacity, collateral, capital, conditions. My experience with the interview process was very fit oriented but some questions regarding basic loan structures.
Regional banks tend to be incredibly conservative (research to confirm, obvs). Focus on your fundamentals, your fancy suit, and your willingness to conform.
How much does credit analyst job pay?
Pretty low, usually less than 60k with usually less prestigious exit opps

Best LCOL or MCOL city?
Focus on fit. Showcase your personality and ability to work well with a team. I think most regional banks focus more on the fit than technical questions. Also read up on the bank and their lending philosophy. Good luck!
