Should I take Accenture UK Consultant offer? Need suggestions!

Hi Guys,

Need suggestions please.

I have around 10 years of experiences in Industry. Currently I am at onshore UK for TCS getting around £46k per annum out of which UK Tax component is very less due to my Indian components included in salary. So I get approx 3.4k per month now and I am on ICT Tier 2 Visa.

Now I just got an offer from Accenture UK in Consultant role in level 9 with a £58k per annum base salary+ some additional components. They would also transfer my visa to Skilled Workers visa. But due to the UK tax components my monthly take home will still be around 3.5k, which is almost same as my current TCS salary.

Now I am confused and need suggestions. Should I dump a company like TCS just for the sake of Visa with almost same salary? Where TCS also has many benefits like sponsoring of Dependent Visas, Indian Mediclaim for my dependents etc. Which will not be there for Accenture. On the other hand Accenture job might help me to settle in UK and change jobs based on same Visa which is not possible in TCS's ICT Tier 2 Visa. But again I might wait and try a bit more for some better companies with more salaries and better company profile in near future. I am not like a guy who jumps companies more often. I have more or less 5 years of company lifetime in my past companies.

Please suggest.

  • Why won't Accenture dependent sponsor visa for dependents? I would say get that skilled worker (tier 2 general) visa first and keep interviewing for better companies and better salaries.

If you have plans to settle in UK, jump the ship as soon as possible. This doesn't mean that you should take Accenture offer, but you should move to Tier 2 General visa asap to start your ILR journey. If you've time to prepare and you think that you can get an offer of way more than £58k within next 6 months, try in other high paying companies. Otherwise, move now.

One more thing, £58k is good enough to switch if you're currently residing anywhere in UK except London.
