You are correct. My rule of thumb - do not work for a 'build open source and hope to get paid for support' model. It will take years to be profitable as support cost is too high (as we all have seen on Blind). Margins are too low so you have to have massive scale to build a viable business.
Word. Also, see ride-sharing stocks. More better, no?
