      Lots of conspiracy theorist responses in this whole thread, honestly. Data shows crime rates are flat. Occam's Razor says: we should presume crime hasn't gone up. Conspiracist's Razor says: the data is wrong, we've suddenly started under-reporting a large amount of property crime, and it's coincidentally been under-reported at *exactly* the rate it's increased, insurance companies coincidentally haven't really noticed yet, the real estate market coincidentally hasn't noticed and keeps going up, and various other straws to grasp at.

    What considered as crime in the other US cities, is not crime in California. These charts is BS.

    San Francisco the only place I’ve seen where rented electric scooters have locks and you have to lock/bind the scooter to something like a street light and prove it with a photo. Everywhere else you just leave the scooter in a sidewalk, they don’t even have locks.

      Funny you should mention assumptions. All you have are dumb anecdotes, whereas I have the comprehensive data. It is also "just your assumption" that the rate at which misdemeanors are reported has changed. Feel free to continue ignoring the facts. Unfortunately for you, facts don't care about your feelings 😏

    I dunno how can these charts be correct, when literally shops are closing and/or reducing hours claiming they never had it that bad and can't continue to operate due to crime. Is the recent spike in anti-Asian crime also propaganda? Car break-ins are up as well - isn't that property crime. Do you remember that singer who got robbed at gun point within 5 mins of coming to SF. That Australian guy. People don't care about charts. The results must be visible on the streets, charts won't make you feel safe.
