Interview process have reached the worst possible ever.
They expect you to just memorise the entire LC and vomit in the interview.

I feel like these so called youtubers have also played a major role in this, they will memorise the answer and solve it in one go for the video and quote "this is the easiest question on earth". They make it sound like if you don't understand this, you're dumb af.
Reality is, If you ask them to reverse a linked list without any resource, they will sh*t their pants.

I'm really depressed and I feel like I'm done with this industry. I'm just 22, if I continue in this industry I definitely know what I'll be doing at 50, solving LC.

A little bit about me
I'm 22, working in a startup.
Experience - 9 months.
I'm really good at development (got this feedback from each and everyone in my company).
I've majorly worked with React, Node, Flutter, Golang, Gatsby and lead the flutter team in my current org.
After the recent funding, my company is in a total mess, there are no seniors to learns from plus there's a lot of politics going on.
I'm looking to switch but I literally can't mug up these LC tricks.
Please guide me 🙏.

Keep interviewing. You will find mature interviewers elsewhere. I have, Im close to 40. I did spend months with leetcode, but my memory is poor. Failed at places and succeded at some other places. It is luck, the probability of it increases as you interview more.

    • This. Some repeat questions and some orgs ask mostly lc medium. Switch to a good place n stay for longer. I have seen that with higher levels, emphasis on sys design knowledge increases as compared to lc grind.

  • In this Market and for your YOE. In fact for any YOE < 12 for any engineering role (EM and Sr EM included) you will need LC if you are looking to get into top paying companies.

There are many many companies that don't ask LC, but of course they don't pay so well also.
