Creating a master thread so can track which companies are WFH vs hybrid vs old school back to office. This is what I have so far.

Update in comments about any company you know and I will update the list or correct this list if you work for any of these.

Amazon is mostly appearing to be hybrid or old school, so have to look out for other company.

Update:- List is now sorted.

Update:- if your company is giving you an option of Remote, that shows their attitude towards culture and trust on you. It also shows that employees matter for them. It’s totally understandable that some functions can not be remote and so you may be forced back into office.

If your company is old school run. No matter how happy you are, your company doesn’t trust you and your leadership style is micromanagement.

Hybrid is tricky, which means company doesn’t trust you or unsure if remote will work. Either case they value profit over employees and culture. Personally, I feel while old days had free food new days have free will. So opt to go in company that value culture.

#hybrid #remotework #wfh

There are people out there who want to go to office even if companies are in hybrid mode. People who will go to office will develop a better sense of *team*, they will be able to do meeting face to face. Their other team mates who choose to work from home will definitely lag behind and sooner or later will feel the heat. This will change their mind towards WFH. Humans are meant to go out and explore rather than sitting in their caves. WFH will not exist for long period of time for sure without sacrifice in career growth.

This is true. If 2 equal engineers, and one manager sees the other one more often compared to the WFH dude…you already know who’s getting PIP 😂

Might be a good sign to jump ship if this is the case because it means your company isnt result orientied who gives a fuck where people do work if there doing it.

  • OP your categories are wrong
    - Remote only (no physical location or most employees are 100% remote)
    - Remote allowed (some but small fraction of employees are fully 100% remote, others no but can be hybrid)
    - Hybrid (everyone must come back to office 2-3 days per week, very little exception or exception need very high approval)
    - Old school (what it used to be, everyday in office)
