Hey guys. Just got off the phone with a recruiter who wants to submit me for a TPM role for Microsoft.

The position would be good till June 2022 with a likely extension up till 18 mos.

The offer is for $57/hr and upon asking the recruiter they’d guess it’s between a TPM 2 or 3

My current job is a dumpster fire but I have some strong experience and a lot of decision making falling on my shoulders (even if it’s just around 1 year).

The question here is, should I stay at my company, go to MSFT, or stay on my search? (I haven’t applied many places, mostly recruiter outreach) #tech #microsoft #startup

You can definitely pivot back. TPM will give you enough knowledge about systems that you will find very handy in future product roles. Good luck

      OP
My current role is Product Owner at a #3 or 4 money transfer company. I’d say it’s a solid split between technical and UX/customer facing requirements.

But since the scope of my team is so vast (with stakeholders pushing their initiatives, I’m finding it hard to make time for actual user focused product work).

If I go into TPM is my fate sealed? Or could I pivot back to a user focused PM role that interests me at a Tier 1 or FAANG for example?
