Is leetcode worth it if you're just breaking into software?
tl;dr Friend is a music teacher and only has an unpaid no-name intern experience. Is leetcode the most useful thing at this point, or projects/something else?
--------------------------------
I have a friend who wants to get into the software world, he currently has made a website for his photography stuff and did a but of unpaid intern work for a no-name startup. He knows react, python, javascript, and has done a bunch of hackerrank problems although I told him LC is probably better.
However, is leetcode worth it for him at this point? I don't think the usual system design + LC prep is relevant to his situation. His background is as a high school music teacher so he doesn't have a STEM background, so he's trying to get in through more frontend stuff.
What would be the best interview prep for this? Is there not really a standard of interview prep for people at the entry level coming from outside formal education?
