Hi! Just wanted to see if I got a decent offer.

I’m a new grad, so this is a P1 level position. It’s in information security at Disney.

Base: $75,000
Yearly bonus: 7%
LTI: 25%
Sign-on: $20,000

    Thats not a bad offer. Get experience and in two years, youll get double. Then once you hit 5 years, youll hit 200+. It will escalate quickly.

      Exactly this. My only addition to this advice is that you need to learn some stuff and make yourself valuable. Having an “interest in security” is not a marketable attribute.

    It's crazy how much salaries haven't moved at all in the past 20 years. My first entry level engineering job also paid around 75k

  • Another thing to consider. Even if you dont think its the best offer, hows the management? Do you think they would make a good mentor? One thing people forget about earlier in their career, having a good mentor can truly speed up your professional development.

      Also some great advice here. Along with a mentor, I’d say it’s a big plus if you get to be part of an important organization change, eg opening a SOC or adopting MITRE. If you want to make big money in 5 years, you need to convince your future employers that you can help them do the work.
