A recruiter once recommended that I take all the skills in my resume and put them in essentially a block of text at the end of my resume. Premise being that no human would look or care, but it's there for the resume scanning tool to pick up.

In white font to hide it? Or actually just throw down some ugly block of text?

My take is that anything on your resume is fair game for interviewers to poke on.
If you include Java and Kubernetes for example make sure you are ready to answer questions or have an opinion about the technology at least.
The 5 or so things I have listed on my resume I make sure to list the experience I have like “basic proficiency”, in case I get questioned they know what to expect.
Tailor your resume to the most relevant skills for the position and unless you have worked with the technology recently or are very proficient with it, in my opinion anything you haven’t touched in the last year or two, you probably don’t remember like you think you do.

Are you kidding? Skills are the only thing i care about when looking at resume. I dont give a shit what pieces of paper you have from which communist indoctrination mills or what title-inflated roles you held. If you can write c++ and cuda i dont care if you learned it in a cave. Skills at the top!

Admittedly im an engineer, not a recruiter.
