looking for advice on a data analytics career within e-commerce. i currently work with looker in e-commerce company but want to learn more about the environment and skills required to Excel at the job. would live your advice on how to improve my resume and what great e-commerce companies are there in Irvine. thanks. Learn SQL, and get really fucking good at it. SQL expertise is the bare and nearly universal baseline for all things analytics-related no matter your position. Even if you’re not actually working with relational databases, the syntax is carried over and abstracted on top of modern day ‘big data’ platforms
I was hoping on just learning python and skip SQL especially know that python will be integrated within looker.
You wont be able to clear initial rounds without solid SQL.

potentially move to an agency — lots of e-commerce clients use digital agencies. building relationships with your client could land you a job in house. in my experience, e-commerce analytics is more business goal oriented rather than product/promotional performance. recruiters use software to pull keywords. be detailed with specific examples on your resume.
Currently work in house for a successful E-commerce company. Might go to an agency if things don't work out here.
