Netflix makes a lot of money from all the cool shows, that i know, but that has nothing to do with tech
As a tech product, Netflix is basically just a youtube ripoff where only Netflix can upload videos. All they need to do is copy youtube, so why is Netflix considered a top tier tech company?

Also: it’s not really a tech company. At least not according to it’s CEO. More like a media/content company with very strong tech. But that’s all just semantics really.
Netflix has a different scaling challenge in that it has to stream much higher definition content than on Youtube. Different recommendation algos. They also spend a fair bit of time on OSS which is quite good architecture wise.
