I had uber phone screen yesterday and it went pretty well, Interviewer was satisfied and happy with the solution I provided for the problem. I covered all the possible cases when asked about the unit test cases of the problem and answered correctly on the followed up question. But still I got a rejection email from the recruiter today. I am not able to understand what could be the reason of rejection.

But most of them are flops.
Yeah, they answered the question and had great test cases. But they took 28 minutes and required more guiding than others. They only got through one of the heavier technical questions whereas some other candidates made it through two or more. They bad-mouthed a previous employer or spoke condescendingly when I pushed back on their answer. Or maybe they did everything right but we did 18 phone screens and I can't bring everyone in.
Who knows.
Also possible that they are in urgent need of someone and had already found one for that role. There are lots of other options, better to move on and focus on the rest.
