I joined Dell EMC is July. I had 184K TC in Texas which is pretty high compared to Texas salaries. I had more than excellent WLB (in fact I didn't do any work in last 3 months). My manager thought very highly of me (Even though I don't know shit).

I resigned today. To be honest I loved some aspects of Dell EMC but absolutely hated others.

AMA.

OP is correct. Dell EMC employees have the highest per hourly rate ( they work 8-10 hrs per week) 3-4 times of FANG

    Agree with everything posted here.
Ppts all day long can get you to vp or svp. If you like work, this place is not for you . Bad for career growth . Slow and bureaucratic processes across the board. Big hit on self esteem and confidence as the right things are constantly punished and the wrong constantly awarded. Innovation stifled, yes manship greatly awarded.

Happy to see you say that you’re going to job hunt . My resume is so full of β€œnothing” , I can’t even land an interview with anyone. Literally, people are refusing to even interview me. And don’t get me wrong, I’ve moved up 4 levels at Dell in 9 years but there’s nothing to show for it outside of The company. No ones going to hire for β€œppt skills” and β€œpolitical correctness”. At least not at my pay grade . Lol.

@mlnn I had to hire someone to turn my β€œnothing” into something. The one good thing about Dell is that you’d be surprised how many people you know who are now at different companies.

Let me also say some good things. Dell EMC has one of the best benefits. Great medical insurance and is very caring for employees. It's a great place to work if you don't like to work but send emails and make presentations. Also if you are heavily into crappy Microsoft tech stack and infrastructure

There was absolutely no work. In 3 months all i did was to send emails answering questions by just googling them.

My Dell machine and Windows made me cry each time I used the Dell systems. I'm a long time Mac user and i feel enormous amount of frustration in using Dell laptops.

Dell has deliberately tied all internal tools with IE. Which is super annoying and life wasting.

The company culture hopelessly revolves around PPT and emails. Things which can be closed in seconds float around for days as nonsensical emails. They drag things for months. All work is PPT work.
