To properly complete with Google Maps it need to integrate Yelp into Maps.

Peloton fanboys are more like Apple fanboys, so similar consumer base. Also Fitness +

Apple don’t need to buy either. Did google need to buy Yelp to provide better recommendations? No. And neither does apple. It’s an old platform with no growth potential. And as for peloton, it’s just an overglorified gym with limited technology. What do apple gain from that?

Apple Maps is already showing Yelp reviews and other info. But when you tap, it redirects you to yelp web/app. Which is very poor UX.

And recent years they are investing in fitness to gain more customer. Like Apple Fitness +. They can integrate it into Peloton

I mean that’s not a great sales pitch tbh. Better integration doesn’t need to done through acquisition. For apple to buy the question is always about 1+1>2. Apple isn’t gaining new territory or market share. All it will improve is marginal user experience which again is not worth buying the company.

To reiterate, most peloton users have apple products already, so there’s not much new user. Apple bought Beats before because it needed influence within the music industry beyond iTunes in addition to making better headphones. Peloton doesn’t have the same market influence as Beats by Dre had back in the days.

I can’t see Apple buying Peloton. Apple has very high standards for hardware and would probably partner with an existing fitness equipment company to build equipment to their high standards and integrate their tech to it.
