Hello fellow H1-B holder,

I am reaching out to you on this online forum because I feel slightly optimistic today. Just a tad. I say this because.. usually, I'm a realist. I'm reaching out here today because I see a small window of opportunity to make this difficult situation slightly maybe just slightly tolerable. With Biden administration openly talking about immigration (usually "hush hush" topic, and quite frankly why would they give a fuck about us) may actually have some fucks to give. I am reaching out because I want to implore you to talk/post do something for a change. Maybe a petition? Maybe talking to the congressman, making our friends and colleagues show up a little for us by doing so. I don't know the answer here. All of us will peel back and go back to India or Canada or the UK or Singapore or wherever... We know that in this one small glimmer of hope, through all this hardship we all got together and honestly tried. After all, we are living in the land of opportunities...
The United States of America, land of the free, home of the brave.

If there's a call to action let's decide what that is

Nothing works buddy. Don’t waste your time, LC and TC. No one here will help us.

Don’t fall for those Twitter movements, sending flowers to senators, grass root movements, calling senators, petitions- no one gives a eff. Have seen all of these for 10 years now.

They've done this bait and switch one too many times. Even now, the provisions for high skilled immigration is more add ons than being the core of their bill.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me for the millionth time... I want to be scammed.

Only work with those who respect you and recognize your problems and understand the challenges and difficulties faced by those who've followed the law. The first compromise is any Democrat immigration bill will be to drop high skilled immigration. The Dems have assumed that Indians will believe all their stupid promises.

  • Find the "Government Affairs & Public Policy" person in your company. Write them an email about your situation under "Employment based" immigration. Write them to request your employer to take active interest in your immigration improvement. Our employers have taken little interest in our lives and it is high time that they push for immigration reform, not for DACA, not for Muslim countries but their own employees.

Many companies do lobby, but they need go to beyond that. They need to hold Congress accountable for this mess and make them clean it up.
