after/before interview for perspective?
I once was about to interview someone and looked them up on Twitter and they had just tweeted out "I kind of hope I don't get this job cuz I just want to chill this summer" I wasn't going to bring it up but after 30 minutes of hearing about how amazing of an opportunity it would be i couldn't help myself. She didn't get the job but hopefully she learned a lesson
That’s the kinda inside scoop I was looking for.. thanks
I usually look up peoples LinkedIn when interviewing them.
The point?
Just to learn more about them
I look up LinkedIn profile of my interviewres.
No, that's a waste of time. I peeked at resumes of some of my colleges/former colleges. Most hardly list anything beyond company/org name, sometimes 1-2 sentences to describe their achievements. Those who boasted the most on LinkedIn tend to work the least ... this is my personal anecdotal evidence, so take it with a grain of salt. The explanation might be the following, they won't boast in their resume as much cause they are afraid that they will be called out on it. Poking through the social networks may create preconceived ideas which will prevent me from judging person impartially. I read their resume and try to understand topics they worked on (if I'm not familiar with it) before an interview.
You mean you don't automatically hire someone if they have "Thought Leader" or "Innovator" on their LinkedIn?
I personally don't. Their online social personality is well beyond the need of the role.
I don't care near enough maybe he does
I look at their LinkedIn just because sometimes they put an information there which wasn't on their resume.
LinkedIn and google em. Fair game.
I always check their P0rnHub. Oh wait, I meant GitHub
Ok Chandler
Do you check their favorite videos to see if there’s a “cultural fit” ?
