Lol. Why would Google buy such a trash product at 10B+ valuation. We have Android TV doing quite well.

Immi_g why so much hatred. Everyone knows Android TV sucks, I had 2, one I just gave away and other is only bearable because of roku stick. Android was the worst TV experience I had, just cancel the whole department or rename it otherwise its going to the route of Nest and pixel products. Also talking about innovation for a company whose 90% of the revenue comes from a single product doesn't make any sense. With so much cash from ad business you guys throw money at the wall, something will always stick and you call it innovation. Real innovation is done from limited resources and targeted approach.

    • Roku is a joke of a company compared to its competition. They are not being acquired by anyone they want to be acquired by.

I didn't say I refused FAANG to go to roku. I interviewed with FAANG but decided to stay at roku due to better TC at roku. The decision turned out to be even more beneficial due to stock growth in 2019. Just look at roku stock in 2019.

Google has been trying to crack TV since 2010. They made several attempts during this time including first party hardware devices( chrome cast, nexus tv) as well as software platforms such as GoogleTV, cast tv and android TV.. nothing has been successful so far. Current market leader is roku followed by Amazon. Followed by apple and Google.
It makes sense for them to acquire roku. The question is whether roku will be willing to sell to google or try it's own destiny.
