I am a Master's student graduating this Summer and I have a prior work experience of 1 year.
I have offers from the following companies:

Oracle: IC2
Base- 130k
Signon- 60k
Stocks - 4500 RSU(220k) 4 years
Total comp 1st year:130k + 60k + 220k/4 = 245k

Apple: ICT2 Data Engineer
Base- 140k
Signon- 70k
Stocks- 90k 4 years
Total comp 1st year: 140k + 70k + 90k/4 = 232.5k

Oracle's offer was for a core database team and I liked the team that I interviewed with.

I am sceptical about the Data Engineering role at Apple. I have worked only in SDE related roles and hence, I am not sure if switching to Data Engineering is a prudent career decision. The team at Apple builds systems for analysing device diagnostic data.

Pros and cons of either offers are welcome.
Any additional information about either teams/offers and the data engineering role will help me make a good decision.

Thanks in advance!

      OP
How easy is to change teams within Apple? I have heard otherwise that managers must be informed before planning to change. Is that the case?

Not that easy to change team, but teams that are hiring Data Engineers have also Software engineers, so in stead of looking outside candidate to fill the SWE roles, often they give chance to DE. Also the line between DE and SWE is shrinking day by day in the industry.

There are several in-memory teams at Oracle. Which one? They are usually good. My friend who works there gets good refreshes like 80k.

Ok.. that’s a good team. One of their engineers/managers gave a talk at our new hire introduction a couple of years ago - he seemed intelligent. From what I have heard, Oracle core in-memory is a good team. They work with Exadata as well, and Oracle makes lot of money from Exadata.

If you haven't signed both offers already, why don't you tell both about the other offer and see who can go higher?
