I personally love working at Apple, started a year after school and don’t really have complaints. The products we make are cool, coworkers are smart, work is fulfilling and WLB is good. Each year we release new products and features and watching them come to market is exciting and rewarding.
However.. being on Blind and basically everywhere, it seems like Google is the gold standard. Everyone is crazy about their fun campuses, high salary and quirky interviews. So my question is, is Google really that great? Although I have no plans as of now, I may give Google a shot in the future.
And I don’t mean disrespect and I know Google engineering is top notch but honestly I feel besides their search engine and older products like maps and gmail; their products have not really impressed over the last 10 years or so.
So what’s the reality like at Google? Would like to get some perspective from the fabled Googlers themselves.
