What is morale like at Facebook, given Zuck’s constant sucking up to Trump?

The interview on Fox was disgraceful (IMO). Genuinely curious to hear your perspectives

  • FB morale has seen tougher times. Zuck is doing the right thing. This media over reaction is something we can always expect.

You don’t know what I hate or love or like.

He has been consistently wrong in interpretations of free speech. Hard to believe he would err correctly there.

His history of making ANY decision has shown poor judgement. So why would this one be different.

The thing is, again, it is difficult. But zuck is not leading, he’s being led.

    • Lot of the statements you have made about Zuck are assertions. I don't know what you like or don't, I was talking about myself.

Who is he being led by? Are you saying Trump instructed him to do this? So that he can be thrashed by the media?

  • It's surprising how many folks on blind are anti free speech. For folks who want to censor speech how would you do it? If you were jack or mark tomorrow would you ban trump entirely? Take down posts you didn't like? I'm not trying to minimize or defend trump (he's obviously a clown) but am trying to understand what folks want to happen here?

    • And who does the fact checking? Most facts can also be viewed in multiple ways. President debate fact checks are reported as somewhat true, mostly true, likely untrue etc.

There’s too much profit in declaring yourself a fact checker to blindly trust a third-party fact checker arrangement.

Most lies politicians make are not factual lies but deceptive and misleading statements. Fact checking that is misleading in itself as the literal facts are not in question but how they are construed and what they imply.

Fact checkers are just a way to pass the buck on morale responsibility. They often don’t benefit the user, just the employees or media’s feelings of morality.

    OP
To be 💯 fair - fact checking and censorship of free speech are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS.

Twitter fact checks Trump, which in and of itself is long overdue. If you tell the country a lie about mail in ballots, and you’re the President of the United States, as an example, a different standard needs to be applied.

Same with inciting violence. To Twitter’s credit, they have a history of policing this.

Facebook has betrayed public trust over and over and over for years. Zuck doesn’t give a shit about anyone.

It’s one thing if you’re publicly an asshole, like Bezos. We know what we get at Amazon: great engineering culture and a Darwinian work environment. The thing that disgusts me about Zuck and Facebook is the farce of this warm and fuzzy “we’re all awesome and love everyone and want to do the right thing” facade, when Zuck is really just a fucking snake.

I honestly don’t know how people go to work at Facebook. My skin crawls and I want to vomit just at the thought. Which sucks, because it could be a great company with a meaningful mission. But it’s just a data vacuum for ads and a megaphone for everyone.

  • Facebookers on blind love it since they can hide their racist views, lots of employees internally are ashamed and embarrassed to work at this company.

Literally the only reason people join FB is TC. So I don’t think their morals are terribly affected by this.
