Yeah 500k for middle of nowhere. Can’t get close in NYC/LA/SF basically any cities with something fun. Not everyone wants to live in nature. Compare the activities with Europe, US inner cities have absolutely nothing.
Also find me any metropol where housing is cheap. I don’t see people moving away from cities to rural areas as you suggest.

I read on Reddit that if you want to drop the price lower, go to the neighborhood for a few weeks/months and shoot some bullets in the air.

It is funny how native born Americans can't even afford their own cities anymore.

papii I have been in the bay a long time and I no longer blame NIMBYs. I think only one thing is important, relative balance of jobs and housing, and not density. SF people think SJ should densify but SJ supplies net housing and SF supplies net jobs.

I think we need more housing but I'd have preferred if we hadn't added so much new offices to begin with. The valley has no clue how to build and the quality of life is worse every year. Transportation doesn't get upgraded and most of the new homes are trash.

SF has better green space, architecture, and traffic engineering than the valley even though they are denser and hate cars.

Repeal prop 13. My parents own CA property, so I’m not saying it out of spite.
