Case-shiller home price index is a leading measure of home price valuations. Currently Case-Shiller Home price Index is at all time high, higher than 2008. EMI(30 year fixed)/Rent is another measure and that is also currently at 3x while close to 1 is sustainable. I have bought 4 homes in last few years in Denver, Austin and Florida and my EMI+property taxes are close to rent in all the homes I bought. I currently live in Bay area. Rents haven't gone up much but home prices have gone up too much. Is there a bubble in Bay area?
Why are home prices getting more and more disconnected from Rent and purchasing power? #mortgage #housing #sanfrancisco
