On the privacy side, I would say so. I joined Google a few months ago and realized that the whole trust thing is a perception problem. Lots of insinuations about Google collecting certain data (eg: Assistant constantly listening to what you say and sending it to Google) are just plain wrong. You can also view / limit / delete a lot of the collected data. Institutionally, I don't think Google is evil. However, as a company grows, the chances of rogue actors, especially higher up the ladder increase. Safety is another issue. Google does collect a significant amount of data and invests a lot in security, but you never know.
All of that said, nobody cares about my data anyway, so whatever. There's only an incredibly small chance that my life would be meaningfully affected if my data gets leaked.
I'm new and have a sense they Google cares about this sort of stuff, but you shouldn't really trust employees in the honeymoon phase, especially with a company this size.
Yes. Google collects a lot of data but it's safe. We would never sell it both because of ethics but also economics - we sell the milk not the cow. Our privacy people are very extreme
