I saw this post on Cisco for a Customer Success Manager position. And I’ve been following many of their job openings and they are very similar. They’re very first minimum requirement is always a thorough knowledge of Cisco products/entire portfolio. The only people who will be eligible are current Cisco employees who work in that department or have experience with that product line. Then why would they post this publicly ? No outsider will ever get a job. Can’t they just post it in their internal site and look for employees within the org ? I am a customer success manager with a decade of experience but I have no knowledge of Cisco products but I meet all their other minimum requirements. This is so annoying and frustrating.

Inside the company we call our culture “the cisco way.” The cisco way is to be worse at just about everything than you’d expect, plus politics.
