LinkedIn honesty

For gods sake please don’t say you were the CEO from your very first job.

I am fortunate to have friends who have every single title in their LinkedIn profile so when you see them as CEOs you can also see how they climbed up the ladder

And then I have people in Microsoft who don’t display their growth but directly write they are CVP, VP or partner. You should not write 1995-Present CEO. Please write your growth from SDET II to Sr to Principal with which years you got promoted etc.

People don’t want to take attention from the fact that they’re ceo/sr leader. It’s dumb and egotistical. Same thing when people remove their experience before becoming director which I see a lot. Dumb

I see A lot of Indians especially not putting in their undergrad education because it’s from India, or not putting in their Indian work experience, to give the impression that they were fully educated in the US, though they may only have a masters degree from the US. Or to give the impression that they only work in the US. This, I feel, is remarkably stupid.

Lol why does it matter? They don’t want you to see the 7 years they spent as analyst before getting their shit together, working their ass off and making SVP in 4 years
