    Feels like my situation rn. Did really well in interviews, got upleveled but struggling so hard now😭

  • A bit different for me -- non-SWE tech engineering role as a consultant. Got up leveled and I fared really well with the technical portion of the job, even tho I had some imposter syndrome.

    What I struggled with was the people/soft skills area. People constantly assumed issues w/ projects were my fault (doesn't help that I'm a minority) and my personal "mantra" is to never throw other people under the bus -- especially teammates. However I never successfully got to the point where the "air" around me imparted confidence on clients, without having to "prove" myself.
    Edit: the frequent use of quotes was because I got lazy halfway thru this paragraph and didn't feel like elaborating as much as I originally planned lol

    TLDR - after getting upleveled I could walk the walk (w/ imposter syndrome) but ultimately struggled to talk the talk.
