what is epic systems (healthcare software company in Madison) software engineering new grad salary have heard 75 , have heard 115, theres a massive difference there, kinda want to know which one it is and this is for CS, some say they also hire non CS for software thats why i clarify also any tips on onsite interview would be appreciated TC : 90 k SF (offer starting in May) YOE : 0(some internships graduate in May)
It was 90-95k 5 years ago
As for CS major, it is required for software developers (with few exceptions for math background folks who get hired for analytics and ML purposes). Other roles take non CS majors as well.
And you agree with above that salary will be around 95 with a 10 k sign on and maybe a little more in annual bonuses 401k match etc
I don't know about sign on bonus as it is a new thing in the past 3-4 years. Annual bonus plus 401k matching will be additional 10-12k.
Will you be above ground or underground?
It was 95k / 10k sign-on bonus for A dev with bachelors in CS 6years ago.

For BS only 95/10 base/sign on. There's are bonuses but the equation for it is black magic. For masters it's 105/10 base/sign on New grad salary is non negotiable (BS or masters)
How do you like it? what was on site like?
For a new grad it's not a bad place to be. The salary is extremely high for the COL. Tech stack/architecture is bad, but you know about that already. You get a lot of ownership even as a new grad which is highly unusual but good for learning. Overall I like it here but unless you're from the Midwest I wouldn't recommend sticking here too long since there really aren't any many other good SWE jobs here. But tons of people go on to FANG and other top companies from Epic. Consider this place a stepping stone. The onsite is basically a formality, if you get invited you basically have the job. Don't say anything stupid (the bar for this is extremely low) and you'll get the job. The only interviewy part of the onsite was a chat you have with another developer about a project you worked on and a design question (think super high level, not like a system design interview).
