Amazon has a boomerang process that you can go out and come back again even within a week with a fresh new hire comp. 2 years back, I did that as soon as I was promoted to L6 - Went out for a month and came back with the top of the range L6 comp at Amazon.
The only problem was that the previous company never asked me to return the joining bonus and I also waited till they ask for it. Its now more than 2 years, should I still be worried that I have to return the joining bonus.
Joining bonus was 70K. My situation is unique, so I will not name the other company.
Current TC - 650K

If no, then you don't owe them anything. If yes, then they could probably still come after you legally if they suddenly notice, but in all likelihood you're fine.
