Why does everyone on blind think Gemini sucks

So I'm interviewing at Gemini and everyone on blind seems to think it sucks there. Can I get an unbiased software engineers point of view. What's good there, all I see is negativity but the interviewers actually seemed to care.

    Not sure, tbh I actually like it here. I’m relatively new though so maybe the magic will wear off soon and I’ll start to see more warts. The only thing that bothers me is the equity structure. We have PIUs instead of the normal RSUs / options. Some people think they’re worth 0 (technically they are the first day but they grow with the value of the company) so it’s hard to calculate your total compensation outside of your salary / bonuses. Personally I do have faith these will be worth a good amount, they released an internal piu calculator to clear up any misunderstandings of value. Other than that career growth is nuts here if you’re on the right team / project. I’m a senior software engineer here and I think you can go up to staff if you get exceeds expectations a few times in a row. Feel free to ask my any questions!

    I think it’s like really one person making most of the negative posts and I’m not sure they even work here anymore. I am relatively new and the people are positive and they want to build things the right way and modernize system. People are open minded and not set in their ways at all

  • I also had a positive interview experience with them. Overall I think they are well positioned in the crypto market with their diverse businesses. Just curious, how’s the engineering and data culture there? how did things change after their new CEO got onboard?
