I just got an offer from Linkedin for SWE, 1 year of experience.

Base $130k, 10% annual bonus
RSU $150k
Sign on $20k

How's the offer? Is there room to negotiate?

Thanks!

    • Oh I see, well yes the average swr makes about 75k a year. New grads at top companies can make what you were offered and the very top tier companies can offer more especially for returning interns. It never hurts to ask or negotiate but ultimately only you can decide what is good. I gambled and went all equity instead of cash as you can tell haha.

That's a bit anecdotal. Don't you think? I really really like it here. The company cares about its employees and I had an offer that Microsoft and Google wouldn't match. I love the work life balance, gym, 12 week paternity leave and the quality of equipment engineers are provided. I might move after a few years but I still want the company to succeed because unlike Amazon employees are treated as an asset and not just expendible resource.

Sure it's anecdotal. But I hear it frequently and from recruiters all over the valley as well. I'm also sure that there are teams that aren't bad. Anyway the perks you describe are available all over the place. Things like that table stakes. What really matters is are in an innovative environment where you're valued. Anyway my 2 cents.
