I wonder if other organizations will follow.
Probably. I'm sure someone crunched the numbers. COVID spreads so quickly. They don't want to pay the potential extra healthcare costs for the unvaccinated. Not to mention time lost due to quarantine for those who don't develop serious symptoms. Especially because the finance industry is DESPERATE to get back into the office. Don't know why though.
My guess is a belief that only command and control management will work for finance, hidden behind "we're regulated" despite companies being more productive in the past two years
If vaxxed get and spread Covid just like the unvaxxed, what’s the purpose of this? The vaccine protects the person, not ones around you
Avoid the health insurance hit. When I worked at a large bank, they self insured Banks are huge on risk avoidance. If there’s a higher chance they have to close an office 5 days because you won’t take a vaccine 90% of your coworkers already took you’re not worth the risk
Unvaxxed more likely to spread, and more likely to run up health insurance costs.
Thanks I like it 👍
So brainwashed
Any of you got a copy of the actual memo that Citi sent out to US employees?
Good
Another reason in a long line of reasons not to join Shitibank
Vaccine is medical information. Since when was it legal to demand access to private medical information? I'm vaccinated but I would never support or work at any company that engages in coercion to try to force unwilling people to inject a dangerous substance in their body. Thats like saying someone who is tortured is engaging in free speech.
You don’t have a right to a job. If you don’t like the policy you can quit. No one is forcing you to hand over your medical info: you either choose to hand it over, or you choose to find another job.
can't totally agree with wGdB05's idea, each part has their free choice, the idea sounds a very classic libertarianism, which is good! However, the actual case is the companies are following (or have some pressure to follow) the government's policies. As a company, you can certainly have your own policy, such as firing all the smoking employees, the free market will balance in the end. Maybe the smoking employees are low productivity people statistically, we don't know. The key point is company made the decision freely based on its own interest. However, if government advocate stronger and stronger that smoking employees should not be hired, then the situation is getting different. Personally, I feel our reality is more alike the second case.
Good!!!
