ex-Facebooker, is Uber considered as competitor?

Accepted offer from Uber. Will I be walked out if I tell my manager? Is Uber considered as competitor? 5a, 7yoe, 320k

Look up "competitor" in a dictionary then think for 5 seconds. The only way Uber could be considered a competitor to FB is if they force their drivers to start playing misinformation on their radio.

Is your new offer 320k you mean?

Amazon 🤠== 8 Aug 17, 2019

No, you are good. Not a competitor.

Really don't know why you think like that. Even if you're going to Snap or Google they don't walk you out. Well unless you really have trade secret..

Microsoft techladki Aug 17, 2019

What's up with all these walk up phobia posts? Either don't tell your manager where you're going, or tell them and hope for a free vacation! What's so complicated here?

What if I have a code review that needs atleast 1 week to complete.

How did you get into Uber? (And Facebook!)

Uber iuoitedghh Aug 17, 2019

???

Facebook Boringwork Aug 17, 2019

What is the stock price used in offer?

Apple tWBu16 Aug 17, 2019

I would consider them a competitor yes because they both compete for software engineers. Why would you tell your manager? Just give your one day notice when it’s time

Microsoft Queasy Aug 17, 2019

No one mentions where they are going anymore. Why would you?

Workday tdf Aug 17, 2019

True. Always say “found a better opportunity” 😂

Google PTmc68 Aug 17, 2019

Yes just say taking some time off to travel, family, whatever if pressed.

Uber dBag Aug 17, 2019

If the competition is in “being evil”, Uber had the lead until 2017, but Facebook has slayed us now so isn’t even close.

Workday tdf Aug 17, 2019

😂

Seriously. Let us have at least this one thing.
