Hi all. I have an upcoming phone interview in two weeks for a recruiter/sourcer position with Amazon. I received the LP and working on my STAR points that would exemplify each principle if I’m asked, just wondering if there are any other resources or tips you could provide to help me prepare for a successful interview. Also I’m not sure if this is the final interview or not, the Amazon interview process involves several steps from what I have read and one step (the second), I seem to have missed/skipped: the assessment. So if anyone knows the interview stages/steps that would be helpful as well. Thank you!

Nice. That’s what she offered me as well as far as working remotely. They also said I could work from any regional office as well so that gives me some flexibility as my significant other is currently interviewing for a position at Google at we might be moving. The TC range they said I was currently at was 105-115 and I could essentially chose how to divvy that up between sign on, base, and stock. But that all depends on how the interviews will go of course

I did C2H and it was the right move for me. I was very successful from the inside as contract and had strong leverage in the conversion process because I was outperforming other FTE that had been there for years. If I interviewed for FTE, I likely would have been downleveled and accepted offer at 80-90k TC at L4. Amazon FTE interview is quite rigorous (in my opinion). Though it might a bit easier to get FTE now since it is a candidate market and all our competitors are making a rush to hire all functions too.

Hey I'm a Tech sourcer for Amazon and went the C2H route. first contract interview took 2 rounds, 1 phone screen, then 1 in person ( should be your 2nd call).

Here are some things to help you prepare for:
    -Good boolean/candidate generation
-Ex. of niche or tough role you worked on
    -pipeline/hiring goals (high performance examples)
-types of roles currently sourcing, the more sde/fee roles mentioned the better
-volume sourcing is what you'll be doing at Amazon so if you can showcase you've
already have experience with this the better.

I got screwed over. I converted FT at the start of the pandemic (April 2020) was interviewing for L5 but got down leveled to L4. TC is $70k +first yr. 21k sign on bonus, 2nd yr.$16k. Did it more for the brand, experience going internal, plus no 1 was hiring this time last year. But hey! market is much better now, so keeping options open now. What's your TC?

Good for you that you got in. There was a hiring freeze in April 2020 so you got in at the last minute. I got lucky and found one of the last contract jobs with Amazon that was available before they completely stop hiring TA. Amazon FTE interviews are hard... I mostly likely would have been downleveled too. You can loop for other tech companies and be offered more money. They don't know what level and salary you are at and will likely simply assume you are L5.

One of the things I found helpful was creating a spreadsheet that listed all of the LP’s and then writing out my examples for each in the STAR format using the columns (e.g. Situation in one column and so on.) Good luck!

I did this with a primary and secondary response for each LP just in case I used one example earlier in the loop. Interviewers sometimes discuss specific responses so if you recycle one, they may find out and it doesn’t look good. Best of luck!

Edit: stages- depends on your business unit and level. The loop is the final stage in the interview process. Level 6+ and L5 manager - non technical roles have a mandatory assessment. Your role may not require one. You will be supplied a copy when your interview is set. You will be required to complete it before your interview date (usually 3-5 days notice).

I just got an email saying I’ve been invited for the on-site 3 person interview. Now I’m even more nervous than before. I got lucky with my previous interviewer because we both just clicked, same personality and style, now it’s 3 people, 45 minutes each, and I’m assuming on of them is a bar raiser, and the weekly calls to prepare you for the 3 panel interview it’s cancelled next week so I don’t know if I’ll be able to attend one before the 3 panel interview is scheduled
