Not correct: it says : Lyft, Yelp, IBM, and LendingClub are among the tech companies whose Bay Area layoff plans have been posted recently by a state agency as part of an official government filing
Employers usually need to notitify EDD then carry out layoffs means it will happen in near future.
Speaking on behalf of IBM, they have yearly layoffs, regardless of market conditions. The pandemic was convenient timing to announce this year's round.
Also when there's new management (CEO) and a recent acquisition, there's always going to be layoffs.
I think these are the layoffs that already happened for IBM.
this is just a clean way to pip the bottom without lawsuits
No new layoffs IBM aside the ones that happened 2 weeks ago.
