Verbal offers, no numbers yet.

Amazon - SDE3, but using Microsoft to get loop set for principal. My interview went too well. Amazon interview was most difficult and for some reason there was lot of OOP/design pattern qs. Of course typical system design and real life coding.
Microsoft - 66 not in Azure and that's a worry. I want to do cloud and this is desktop. Also no java etc. I know I can change in a year but that means career hit etc. Benefits lot better.
Stripe - l4 I know their stock thing. Work seems interesting and good. I am not vest and rest. I like to work a lot. Also payment is a new domain to learn. Benefits are bad. I mean matching 401k health etc.

So keeping money aside, I prefer personal happiness over money. Which one is good? I am confused. I liked all people I talked to and team in all three. Hiring Managers were all good and candid.

And before you ask. Lowballed hard at Google. FB reject. Ex FB, MS and Amazon.
Also on hold from PayPal. I believe I am their second choice. But not interested in paypal now. PayPal was willing to pay around 550k in initial discussion and full remote. But got a not so good culture vibe. Recruiter says he is also looking for a different org.

If I get a PE position at Amazon it is no Brainer. I hope PE is treated well. MS from 66 to partner, how steep it is? As I mentioned no rest and vest for me. Stripe no clue. They seem to run pretty flat but good interview experience.

Also talking to Netflix recruiter but not sure if I can finish that. So need to let that go. Apple was weird. Inspite of two referrals not even called for interview. Got rejected by square and robinhood even before recruiter stage. Robinhood was not a match but not sure about square. But application itself was denied.

Wow, youโ€™re one lucky guy with so many offers..Iโ€™ve heard great things about MS culture but if youโ€™re not comfortable with working on a desktop product, then go with stripe and learn something new.

Thank you. But on hindsight also got rejected by a lot. FB rejection hurt and bruised ego. Come on I worked there and was good. But life moves on I believe. Also knew post interview reject coming as some interviewers were not enthusiastic or making faces in the end.

Yea, I get it; Iโ€™ve got rejected from Amazon, which affected my confidence for a while, I am over it now, but I guess it takes time to get on a roll and all good things happen at once.

I am not worried about PIP. Only insane manager would put me to PIP. Over decades I am humble to say I have been among top performer always. At Amazon PE bar is extremely high and you do not PIP at that level. If things do not work out you are mature enough to take hints and move on. It is mostly about fit and culture <leadership principles in Amazon way>. I do not think ar that level you can afford hiring mistakes. I am not even sure I can Crack PE rounds. First manager need to agree. I am talking on Monday.

Itโ€™s not only about how well you perform . Itโ€™s also about how well you get along (aka ear trust/ culture fit ) . But yes agree on the maturity level POV

DM. I can. Ideally keep resume to one page. Have projects, work listed in chronological order with impact. I mean did x which improved y by z% or worked on x which saved y hours or y dollars. Again keep it short. Now a days I just use my LinkedIn profile and keep it up to date. And no unnecessary things like address, phone, school etc. No one cares after few years where you passed from. Even if you keep just note highest education. No more than one page is the key. And no laundry list of technology know etc. If you have patent include them. If you have too many patents keep the key ones.

If I read this correctly, you are trying to boomerang back to either FB (denied unfortunately), Amazon, and Microsoft? Which one have you liked the most from a culture standpoint?

He could be trying to stay completely anonymous. Stating you have 25 YOE might dox you as this is probably a clue to an โ€œolderโ€ worker.

Thanks OP! I would think if you didnโ€™t like the culture at Amazon back then, I donโ€™t think you would like it today if you are the one having clout on who stays and who goes. You may not be a manager, but this power might make you squirmy and feel bad for the person. Some people can compartmentalize whiles others canโ€™t.

Yes that is a good point. Last time I was forced to get involved in some PIP stuff. Definitely not something I like doing but manager is like hey you are just reporting back performance. Yikes. I will keep that in mind. Good point.
