When I see the TC or NW numbers on Blind I feel like it’s discouraging for folks who are just starting out or not long time FAANG. People end up unhappy with what they have or looking for magic investments. I’m sharing a modest graphic of my 401k from my first job out of school as a proof point that simple index investing and time will yield positive results. TC at the time was $48k and I invested $52k over 7 years. 2 recessions and a decade later the account grew to $272k with precisely zero effort. No magic.
You’re in a good spot. Happy journeys.

Investment advisors talk about lost decades here and there. We may be onto one. Who knows?
