Hi everyone,
Just received a verbal offer from Google. Kicker is that I provided numbers for expectations first along with competing offer’s salary. Google came back with a slight beat on the salary and a miss on my GSU expectations.
This job would require a move for me and relo is obviously part of the package, and the recruiter knows I was mildly disappointed on the move but more excited for the team.
Since I provided numbers first, did I shoot myself in the foot as far as negotiations go? I’m thinking of asking for a sign on bonus to cover the move and the miss on GSUs.
L4 Data Analyst role, Bay Area
Base: $145k
Bonus: 15%
RSUs: 130k over 4 years
Offer TC: 207k/year (front loaded equity)
Had banded expectations around $140k salary and $160k RSUs.
Current TC: 115k/year
