Apple Siri Rotational Program Virtual Onsite rounds

Sep 28, 2020 19 Comments

Hey everyone!

I have upcoming virtual onsite interviews with the Apple Siri team for their Siri Rotational Program. Has anyone here given the interviews or knows anyone who gave these rounds?

This is my first time giving interviews for full time and there are multiple rounds that focus on problem solving and debugging, technical communication and product onwership, coding and data structures, architecture and algorithms, behavioural. Would really appreciate if someone could tell me a bit more about what each round can consist of, not just from Apple’s perspective but general coding interviews as well!

Thank you all :)

I just did mine recently. Interviews were really easy, your recruiter should have told you exactly what each interview would test unless they weren't serious about you. Got vibes that the program wasn't that great, so I'll probably take my Facebook offer instead. They invited me to speak to last cycles cohort before making my decision and none of them were too impressive? During a chat one person literally told me he turned down a Snapchat offer and regretted it. My recruiter said they were having a hard time finding good candidates and getting them to join (despite only hiring like 10 people) so that's another red flag. All of my interviewers were either alumni of the program or mentors and 5/6 of them could not speak coherent english. The only one that could speak english properly was American born and actually complained about bad communication with her coworkers.

They said the intention of the program initially was to poach promising new grads away from other FAANGs. Except if someone is good enough to get an offer from Google RMI or Facebook AI Research or Microsoft Research, they're definitely not going to consider Apple. So instead they get people that can't even get into Facebook or Google as generalist engineers. I really do think most people would choose any random team at Facebook or Google over this program at Apple.

    • If someone can’t get into these top programs, how would you compare this program to other SWE roles at idk Salesforce, Amazon etc?

Have to disagree with you on this. I've seen a few very talented people in this program.

True: if someone is good enough to get an offer from Google RMI or Facebook AI Research or Microsoft Research, they're definitely not going to consider Apple.

Not true: I really do think most people would choose any random team at Facebook or Google over this program at Apple.
