Recently got an offer at GitHub for SE2 @ 190k TC. I think the problem space looks great but don’t see much of Blind talking about the company this year. What are the general sentiments of working there? Worth leaving my current position which I’m decently comfortable at?

TC: 155k
YOE: 2.5

  • With GitHub, you can branch out, become a master. Sure, sometimes you'll checkout, and you may be overwhelmed you may wish you can clone yourself, or you even just want to reset everything... hard. But if you can squash it, and as long as you commit, you'll be fine.

I think it’s a great place to work. TC is improving. WLB is unbeatable. Not perfect but definitely better than most places I’ve worked.

WLB is unbeatable if you’re on a team that doesn’t ship anything. Like this person most likely.

  • I’d take the negative pulse scores against it and the low rating with a grain of salt. Its pulse score is lower than Chase’s, but there is absolutely no way that that’s right with their medium pay and full remote culture.

It’s basically a fully remote Microsoft at this point with pockets of GitHub surviving.

Still sounds better than red hat.

Good WLB and a good pay bump for you with permanent WFH
Not as good as it used to be but still a good place to work
    Decent offer if not HCOL
