what is the latest update of #facebook new hire orientation and bootcamping? anybody onboarding next Monday? i am wondering what is the change? i dont want to loss my health insurance under coronavirus if they decided to postpone the onboarding:(
I am in similar boat, had plan for join on March 30. I heard that joining could be online. Harder for me since wfh till 25, and seems such bad form to leave in such state without giving 14 day notice
How was the interview and how did u get interviews? Thanks
Was contacted by recruiter. Interview was LC medium, LC hard. Everyone was very courteous and collaborative especially in the system design
Thanks for the question OP. I will be joining in April 2nd week. Haven't given notice at my current job yet.
Which office are you joining?
Seattle
They'll put you on the team with the most SEVs. ππ Jk jk
I need to drink the koolaid in person. Please don't remote the boot camp π
Joining Monday. Travel from SEA is booked. You can trigger COBRA for 60 days past termination, although in Amazon that's $1.2k/month for me and spouse...
Isnβt Menlo Park office closed due to Corona? Checking not claiming:)
Recruiter said it's voluntary WFH
Recruiter told me orientation in mpk will most likely not be in person, and given wfh in most of mpk sea and NYC offices boot camp will be xonet wfh too. This seems like a bad start to fb career.
They are going to be more forgiving than under typical circumstances. More ramp time.
Anyone got any information for non-SWE new hires? Will the start date get postponed since almost all team members are WFH??
When I did onboarding at MPK in May they told us you are covered on insurance at hire and onboarding doesn't matter. The story they told us was of someone who broke his arm the Sunday before and was covered. There was paperwork to do but FB covered his expenses even though he hadn't done enrollment. But ask HR to verify that.
Same boat. April 13 start date, no updates
Have you already given notice at current job about leaving?
Not yet...
But you start on Monday? Not planning to give 2 weeks?
