I see contradicting comments here on blind with one school of thought suggesting people should interview every 6/12/18 months and the other believing in a hard cap on # of Google onsites/or in HC not likely approving a candidate who has interviewed too many times. How many times did you attempt an onsite interview at Google before getting an offer? Personal context (if you care): I have done the onsite 3 times (twice without preparing as much as I should have) and I was told last time that after spending an unusually long time talking about me in HC, they decided against it. Don’t want to risk imposing any sort of lifetime ban by interviewing again so I thought I’d leverage the Blind community to maybe take some pressure off?
I had two phone screens for internship after my second year in school, but failed team matching. Before graduation, I was invited for the on-site without the phone screen, and passed the interview, but also failed the team matching. Half a year later I was offered team matching with no additional interviews and found my new team and joined Google. You could say that I had three failed interviews, or that I had one interview for a full times position spread over two years :-)
So, if I understand this right, there's no hard limit to the number of attempts for Google, right? (I've bombed my first phone screen, went to onsite the second time and bombed there, will definitely try again in 2020).
There is no hard cap, my recruiter confirmed that with me. He also told me he worked with a candidate that visited onsite 5 times before getting in.
Big G is not the only company in the valley, so if you failed more than a few time you should just move on and find something else. It's not everybody's cup of tea. Plenty other companies around On the other hand it's miles better than Uber for sure
I’m not from the valley :( options are more restricted in my city and Google has a big presence
Oh you’re from Pitssburgh, nice
