Am a new grad who graduates this May with a FB offer. I got my offer in August and my grad date was dec 2019, but i took too many classes and decided to spend an extra sem and take some grad math classes for fun along with required coursework. Kind of worried about my background check, since my grad date is now actually in May, but FB may have it in their database that its december. When i told my recruiter id like to start in May over March, she was fine with it. I didnt tell her i was graduating a sem late. I plan to be forward with the info in the background check if asked, but im wondering if ill be ok here? Will this be a minor deal or something i should worry about? TC: 200 if i dont fail this bg check :o
You will be fine. It’s not a crime to extend your graduation by few months!
You should be fine. They got you in based on your interview and not so much on your GPA.
I don’t think this’ll be a problem. Just keep your recruiter in the loop in case it gets flagged.
they won't waste more hours and resources to find another person for any college level position. especially if they already handpicked you to fill it. you're fine. edit: almost every intern that had a specific graduation date, in every place i worked at, had their start work date extended in months (vacation, grad date moved, etc.)
I don’t think this person is at risk, but we hire so many new grads a year. One disappearing wouldn’t even get noticed.
It’s ok
Do they check my title at Netflix as part of background check
Generally yes, but sometimes titles sound fuzzy. But if you say you are SWE and you’re a janitor that will raise a red flag.
My title is sse but I lead a team and I told Facebook I am a seasonal manager, aiming at m1-M2 roles, how about that?(interviewing with google for l7 currently)
In the Hire Right's background check for FB, do they require W-2s from all employeers? Also, out of curiosity, how many years back does the background check go? I ask because my employer from almost 10 years ago is out of business and I am pretty sure I haven't kept W-2s from that far back. Thanks.
They don’t require W2s if they can verify employment dates through other means
Got it! How many years do they go back in their background check if I have had 13 years of experience? Standard 7, 10, or all years? Thanks.
